Mike is a founding partner of Lex Technica, where he represents businesses and individuals in all stages of the litigation process. Mike has extensive background with government agencies, having worked in the public sector for over 10 years, which included serving as an elected District Attorney in Nevada, as Trustee on a Nevada Public Hospital Board, and having been appointed by both Republican and Democratic Nevada Attorney Generals to sit on a statewide board. Mike’s corporate experience began when he enlisted as Special Litigation Counsel for Nevada’s original tech firm, Switch Ltd. Mike has conducted dozens of jury and bench trials, and has successfully represented clients in court hearings, and in alternative dispute resolution.
Mike’s practice includes corporate counsel and governance, corporate criminal defense, municipal law (open meeting law), employment law, trust, estate, and guardianship matters, along with general commercial and real estate litigation. Mike is an especially talented and experienced litigator that knows his way around the courtroom and how to achieve results. He is “The Closer.” He is result driven and a passionate advocate for his clients fortunate enough to retain him.
While in law school Mike served as a research assistant for one of the nation’s leading evidence scholars, editing and drafting text books and coursework materials pertaining to the Federal Rules of Evidence. He was a Pacific Pathways Mentor to high risk teens, and a member of the Anthony M. Kennedy Inns of Court. Mike attended a semester of law school in Salzburg, Austria where he was instructed on International Business Law and Fundamental European Rights. After Graduating law school, Mike accepted a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Dan L. Papez in the Seventh Judicial District Court of Nevada.
Outside of work, Mike is a tracker with his local Search and Rescue team, “guides” his friends and clients fly-fishing out of his drift boat, bow-hunts, lifts weights, practices boxing and Muay Thai, reads, and remodels his own house and properties.
